Biography

The Giving Moon is a young, experienced alternative rock band originally from St. Charles, IL. Inspirations come from a variety of classic rock musicians including Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin and other alternative rock bands including Radiohead, Young the Giant and Foster the People.

Originally a two member group between lead guitarist and vocalist, pianist and songwriter Sean Seales and drummer Ryan Brasley in 2007, they played their first show for a charitable cause -St. Baldricks Cancer Society. Two years later in 2009 Marcello Positano joined the band as their rhythm guitarist. After experimenting with new musical ideas a year later, Adam Suto bassist was added to the group, making them a four piece band. The band continues to perform for charities which remains a priority.

On Saturday, December 1st, The Giving Moon had the amazing opportunity to perform the opening show for Eddie Money, Edgar Winter, and John Cafferty at the Arcada Theatre. A week later they were invited back to the Arcada to perform another opening show for Gary Hoey, ranked one of the top 100 guitarists in the world, who then became the band\'s producer of their first EP, The Wild, releasing on May 18, 2013.

Past experiences include on July 28, 2012 wining first place out of over 120 bands that competed in the Independent Artists and Musicians Festival (IAM FEST 2012- sponsored by The Elbo Room in Chicago). After winning this competition, they had the opportunity to perform at The House of Blues in Chicago on August 25, 2012. The band wishes to continue their career with a common goal to share their music worldwide and perform in nations all over the globe.
